A new built-in Screenshot feature is coming to Google Chrome for Android. Along with Copy Link, Send to Your Devices, QR Code, and Print, the new option shows in the bottom row of the sharing menu. The new capability appears to be part of Google’s recently released Chrome 91 upgrade for Android.
Google’s redesigned ‘Sharing Menu,’ which was introduced last year, now includes a screenshot tool. The new function should make taking screenshots of websites much easier. With the recent release of Chrome 91, the new screenshot tool in Chrome for Android appears to have been made available. 9to5Google discovered the screenshot tool. Gadgets 360 was also able to independently test the function on a variety of Android smartphones. The function is part of Google’s ‘Sharing Menu,’ which was launched with a Chrome update in August 2020 and is available on all devices.
Chrome for Android’s ‘Sharing Menu’ has been reorganised into three rows. The current webpage’s favicon, page name, and URL are displayed in the top row. The top social apps that the user has on their device are listed in the centre row. The new Screenshot, as well as Copy Link, Send to Your Devices, QR Code, and Print, are all available at the bottom of the row.
When a user selects Screenshot, the software captures a screenshot of the full webpage, including the top address bar. At the bottom of the screen, the programme displays three options: Crop, Text, and Draw.
Users can crop the screenshot as needed using the Crop function. However, there is currently no visible option to lock the image’s aspect ratio. The image can also have text added to it as a second option. When you click it, Chrome for Android displays a text box. Users can freely draw on the screenshot with their finger while also changing the brush size. The colour of the text and the motions painted on the image can also be customised.
After modifying the screenshot, the user can choose from three options: Share this screenshot, Save to device alone, or Delete by clicking Next in the top right corner of the screen.
